A new DLC pack for Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy
Home Paradise is now available, and Nintendo has also
released a new series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards to
go along with it. It should come as no surprise that the
new DLC includes amiibo functionality; however, you could
be forgiven for thinking otherwise at first because there
is no obvious way to use amiibo at this point.
This page contains comprehensive information on how to
enable amiibo functionality in Happy Home Paradise,
including information on the tasks that can be completed
by scanning amiibo cards and figures.
When you arrive at the Paradise Planning Office for the
first time, you may notice that there is no place to scan
your amiibo figures. But don't worry, you will eventually
gain access to this miles-tickets">ACNH nmt. As soon as you have
completed seven vacation home designs (excluding your
first facility design), Lottie will automatically include
the Amiibo Scanner in your office's equipment list.
You can use either Animal Crossing amiibo cards or Animal
Crossing-themed amiibo figures with the scanner at this
time, but the Villager Super Smash Bros. amiibo figure
does not work — it will register, but will not allow you
to do anything with ACNH nook miles.
Is There Anything You Can Do With An Amiibo In Happy Home
Paradise?
So, exactly what can you do with amiibo in Happy Home
Paradise is a mystery.
To begin, you can use the amiibo scanner to contact
various villagers and offer to build them a new vacation
home as a thank you for their cooperation. The Amiibo
Scanner can be used to invite any villagers as soon as
you unlock bells">animal crossing bells, whereas special NPCs
are classified as 'VIP clients,' for whom you will be
able to design vacation homes as you progress further in
the game.
You can also summon amiibo to vacation homes, which will
allow you to take better photos for your portfolio,
similar to how you can summon amiibo to Photopia, which
will allow you to play the game.
When you're at a vacation rental, press the down arrow to
bring up the screen that allows you to move the resident
around the property. As soon as you enter the game, the
amiibo logo will appear in the bottom left of the screen,
indicating that you can use amiibo cards or figures to
summon villagers as well as special NPCs. Only after you
have unlocked the Amiibo Scanner will you be able to
access this feature.
Afterwards, you can summon and move these characters
around in the same manner as you would for the vacation
homeowner, positioning them for the perfect photograph
for your portfolio.
