Terry Francona have agreed on a two-year contract
extension that will keep him with the Tribe through the
2018 season. The new deal also contains club options for
the 2019 and 2020 campaigns. After a wildly successful
stint in Boston, Francona took over the Indians reins in
2013 and has led them to consecutive winning seasons for
the first time since 2000-2001, while compiling a mark of
177-147 (.546) over his two years with the club. His 177
wins and .546 winning percentage rank 4th and 5th-best,
respectively, in club history among managers through
their first ttwo seasons.
