If you have spent years cruising around Los Santos,
grinding out cash and chasing that next upgrade or a bit
more GTA 5 Money, you start to notice the small stuff.
The game is packed with tiny details that feel almost
obsessive. Sandals flop around when a character runs,
engines tick after you shut them off, even the way bodies
slump in a seat looks weirdly natural. You get used to
Rockstar nailing all those little touches. Then one day
it hits you: for a game that revolves around cars, nobody
actually uses a car key.

The Strange Life Of Locked Cars
Once you spot it, you cannot stop seeing it. The whole
city runs on this super simple logic: a car is either
locked or it is not. That is it. There is no sense that a
certain person owns a certain car and has the right tool
to open it. You never see anyone pull out a key fob, or
lean in to unlock a door the normal way. Even the big
story characters play by this weird rule. Take Dave
Norton. He is not some random NPC. He is important, he
has a steady job, he feels like the kind of guy who would
definitely have a proper key and maybe even a boring
family SUV on the driveway. Yet the game does not care.
If the script says his car is locked, Dave is just as
clueless as any street thug.

When The AI Only Knows One Way In
This is where it gets kind of funny and a bit broken.
There is no animation for "use key", no little moment
where someone presses a button on a fob and the lights
flash. The AI has learned exactly one way to get into a
locked car: smash the window. So if a mission or cutscene
needs Dave to be locked out, he will elbow the glass like
a desperate carjacker, then reach in and pop the door. He
is doing this to his own car. It looks normal at first
because GTA teaches you from minute one that glass is
just another barrier to destroy. But once you notice it,
the whole scene feels off, like the game forgot that
people sometimes just… unlock things.

A City With No Keys
If you follow this logic all the way through, Los Santos
becomes a strange place. Either everyone leaves their
cars unlocked all the time, or every single trip to the
shop involves smashing a window and calling the repair
guy later. Park outside your safehouse, walk back out,
the car is still there, magically ready to open with no
key in sight. The player never worries about that side of
ownership. Huge garages, expensive supercars, carefully
tuned bikes, but not once do you think about a keyring.
It is like the world has evolved past keys but did not
invent keyless entry either. There is just nothing there.

Why We Never Questioned It
Most of us do not notice because the chaos in GTA 5 is
loud enough to drown it out. You are busy stealing cars,
blowing them up, or grinding missions for hours to buy
cheap GTA 5 Money and you just accept that every vehicle
is either instantly yours or permanently sealed until you
punch the window. The driving physics feel good, the
gunplay is tight enough, the world looks alive, so your
brain fills in the gaps. Only when you slow down, watch a
character act like a stranger breaking into their own
car, you realise there is this big empty space where
normal, boring life should be. And once you see that gap,
it sticks with you every time you roll up to another
perfect, keyless car in Los Santos.RSVSR gets why GTA 5
fans obsess over tiny details—like how engines ping when
they cool down—yet somehow nobody in Los Santos seems to
own a car key. That weird gap in realism is exactly the
kind of thing we love diving into, alongside guides that
actually help you enjoy the chaos more and stress less.
If you're done smashing your own windows and just want to
focus on big heists, smart money moves, and the fun
stuff, hit https://www.rsvsr.com/gta-5-money for
straightforward tips, legit strategies, and a community
that talks like real players, not robots, so you can make
the most of every wild drive through Los Santos without
feeling like you're grinding forever.
