The Jacksonville Jaguars went out and absolutely dominated on
defense. They forced four three
interceptions
Myles Jack
Color Rush Jersey , they kept the Pittsburgh Steelers offense in check for
the vast majority of the game, and... well... it didn¡¯t matter because the
offense ¡ª specifically the quarterback ¡ª couldn¡¯t get it done. And here we are,
losers of six straight ¡ª seven on the year ¡ª and out of the playoff race.Who
stood out in the Week 11 matchup? In honor of how many seconds the Jaguars
trailed today, here are the five who stood out.1. Blake BortlesJust a week
removed from playing a very good game against the Indianapolis Colts, the team
showed they have no faith in Blake to win the game ¡ª and for good reason! He
takes sacks when he shouldn¡¯t, he misses wide open
receivers
Abry Jones
Jersey , and he overthrows his deep targets. He only had 18 attempts in
which to stain the game and he still did it. The offense went three-and-out on
their five final drives because Blake is not an NFL-caliber quarterback.2. Jalen
RamseyHe took Antonio Brown out of the game for the most part and had two of the
most jaw-dropping interceptions you¡¯ll see this year. It was all for naught but
he was part of a defensive unit that did their job.3. Leonard FournetteFournette
ran differently today. He finished with 141 yards on 30 touches ¡ª a legitimately
good game! ¡ª and accounted for an astounding 77 percent of the team¡¯s offense.
It was the best game of his professional career but an L is still an L.4.
Yannick NgakoueHe had one of the team¡¯s two sacks on the day, but he was
constantly pressuring Ben Roethlisberger and was a big reason the Steelers
passing game was neutered for three-and-a-half quarters.5. Tashaun GipsonThere
were only a handful of bad plays by the defense this week, but this was probably
the most damning. Gipson bit hard on a double move by Brown who went 78 yards
for the touchdown. It opened the floodgates for the Steelers to begin scoring.
The Jaguars saw another opportunity to establish themselves as the dominant team
in the AFC completely fizzle out, as the much anticipated match up between their
#1 ranked defense and the #1 ranked offense of the Kansas City Chiefs and newly
minted superstar Patrick Mahomes ended up with the Jags getting washed away in
soggy, rain-soaked Arrowhead Stadium, 30-14.The Chiefs much heralded offense got
to it early and
often

testing the strengths of the Jaguars defense at every level, and often with
unprecedented success against the usually stout unit. By the time the Jaguars
seemed to get it going, they found themselves down 10 and then the turnovers
started from quarterback Blake Bortles. In a game where the team desperately
needed a ¡°Good Blake¡± performance, they got a somewhat vintage Bortles game, and
not in a good way, as he threw one pass on an intended screen play into the
chest of a Chiefs lineman who returned it back for a touchdown. Another pick
came as the team drove deep into Chiefs territory before the half while the game
was still somewhat
doable
Carson Tinker

helmet, and it was caught by a Chiefs defender in the end zone on the
deflection. All told, Bortles accounted for five turnovers, including a fumble
on a strip sack by Dee Ford, on the first play of a drive that was produced
thanks to the Jaguars Tashaun Gipson getting the first pick on Mahomes of the
season. Bortles finished with 416 yards passing, a career high. The offense was
toothless for a majority of the game outside of a couple of garbage time
scores

Jersey , and the defense couldn¡¯t do enough to slow down the Chiefs when
they needed to as their offense did mostly whatever it liked all game. It was
very much reminiscent of the loss to the 49ers last season. The loss moves the
Jaguars to 3-2 and still tied with the Tennessee Titans, as they lost somehow to
the Buffalo Bills 13-12. The Jags will get ready for another road trip next week
against the Dallas Cowboys, and likely have a monster performance if trends hold
true thus far this season.
