Senators hope to record consecutive wins for the first

series.The Vancouver Canucks could be closer to naming a
general manager. The team met with Boston Bruins
assistant general manager Jim Benning on Wednesday about
the vacant role. TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports
that Benning is considered the frontrunner for the job.
Dreger also reports that some believe that Canucks
president Trevor Linden is waiting until the end of the
second round of the playoffs to make an appointment.
Benning, a former Canucks defenceman who spent nine
seasons in the league with Vancouver and the Toronto
Maple Leafs, has been an assistant with the Bruins since
